Farmington Hills Michigan exploration: Chai and Street Snacks in Michigan!

Exploring Farmington Hills Michigan … I love the spread of diversity in Metro Detroit! It’s spread all across the area and you can find different cuisines in every city. I like exploring Dearborn for all types of halal food, but in particular, it has one of the best Middle Eastern foods. Just like that, I like going to Farmington Hills to explore a variety of Indian/Pakistani-style food.

I had the pleasure of going to Gift of India, which brings me back to Farmington hills for Indian/Pakistani style halal street snacks. Growing up in Michigan we didn’t have a place for desi (India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh) street snacks.  I was thrilled to hear Gift of India opened!  Yes, Nehee’s has been in Michigan for the past 15 years and it offers a great variety of snacks. However, Gift of India offers great fusion street snacks like their kati rolls, zesty pizza, and shakes.

Being a chai lover, I love grabbing good chai with great amazing snacks. Gift of India has good karak chai, chaat, and other halal options available. Recently, I explored their new cafe, which has great seating space and dessert options. I enjoyed the fact the owners are taking extra time to explore the desi culture and create such an atmosphere.

Gift of India will be just more than a cafe/restaurant, it’s a place for South Asian parents to showcase their culture to children along with being a place for great gup chup (chit chat). I like to keep this place for great chai memories.
