Last week, I had the pleasure of trying the Great Commoner Cafe. The moment I entered the cafe I was mesmerized by the cozy vibes and unique decor. This place use to be an old boutique, but now it has been completely changed into a cafe.

The Great Commoner has plenty of seating and a private room for large gatherings. I glanced over the menu, which consisted of American-style brunch along with a touch of Lebanese Cuisine. I had no problem ordering steak and eggs because everything is halal. The juicy steak was juicy top with chimichurri and provided a nice lukewarm sizzling taste. I was recommended to try their sticky cinnamon bun as well. This cinnamon bun will definitely give you a run for your money because it’s the perfect rich cinnamon taste on top of the bun filled with creamy ice cream inside. Of course, I needed my tea with some orange blossom cake, to end this fine brunch.

The Great Commoner has both amazing food and a unique interior to attract people. I had a chance to speak to the owner Hussien Abbas. I was curious to learn more about the concept behind this cafe. Abbas’ vision behind Great Commoner was to provide big city vibes in a town setting creating a place for every day to grab-go salad-sandwiches along with providing full-service dining inexperience. Thus, his team also created the menu as a cross-culture of Mediterranean blending various cultures together. Also, Abbas pointed out the concept behind the cafe is to bring people together and drive conversations. He created this cafe with help of Oliver Nasrallah from Hallarasan Group, who created this one-of-a-kind decor for the Great Commoner Cafe.
This spot in Dearborn is perfect for creating memories with a touch of elegance!
